 Reiki is a very ancient hands on healing that anyone can learn. The class consists of face to face instruction from a Reiki Master, including practice sessions incorporated into the class. Each degree of Reiki learned also includes "attunements" from the Master. These attunements are done individually in a short private ritual. The attunement begins the process of the student's ability to do Reiki.
REI-KI is actually two words in Japanese and was used by a Japanese physician, Dr. Usui, who rediscovered this healing technique in the mid 1800s. The meaning: REI is channeled from God (or whatever higher power you believe in) and KI means life force (the same as CHI in Chinese or Prana in Hindi). Therefore, REIKI means a life force that comes from a higher power. In First degree we will study more of the history and uses of Reiki.
There are three degrees of Reiki as follows:
FIRST DEGREE. Over approximately 8 hours, this level teaches the student to do Reiki on themselves and others. After first degree and the proper attunements, a student can be called a Reiki Practitioner. A small amount of homework will be assigned, and after that is completed with the 8 hours of course work, a certification will be issued. Your investment for First Degree is $150.
SECOND DEGREE. This is done on two consecutive days of 6 hours each day. This degree confers on the student three of the secret Reiki Symbols to be used in strengthening the Reiki Practitioner's energy and ability to help their clients. You will also learn to do Reiki at a distance, sending your healing energy to people no matter what the distance in time or space. During this intensive class, we will experiment with this technique. Before the class ends you will have successfully accomplished distance healing and you will have had feedback from your distant client. There are further attunements as well as simple homework. Your investment for Second Degree is $250.
THIRD DEGREE. This degree is the same as becoming a Reiki Master and incorporates the ability to be a Reiki Teacher. This is done over two 2-day sessions, generally 12 hours in each 2-day session. It can be arranged in whatever way suits the Reiki Master and the Third Degree student. This degree is generally learned individually rather than in a class, as the Master Teacher will want to focus special attention on the pupil. With attunements and learning Third Degree Reiki, you will become a Reiki Master. You will learn the remaining secret symbols and learn how to attune your students. You are at this time able to teach Reiki as well as use it to heal others. Your investment for Third Degree is $500. Please note that this applies to students who have also taken First Degree and Second Degree from me. Those who have learned from another teacher will be required to do a 2-day review with me at an investment of $250, prior to doing the Reiki Master Third Degree.
With each degree there will be a small reading assignment. You will be expected to purchase books or go to the library to check them out. I do not have extra books to loan.
You may hear of Reiki Intensive classes that are much shorter and the classes much larger. You may even hear that you can learn Reiki from a book or online. Please open your heart for your own direction and learning. I feel confident that you will want to learn the ancient methods with personal instruction.
My classes are limited to four students. They can be individuals or couples or any combination of both. I want to give personal attention to each student for full understanding and guidance through their training. I love the closeness that envelops teacher and student in this environment. We are immersed in the Reiki energy for higher good.
Please come to class very comfortably dressed. Loose clothing is most appropriate, and if a pillow or slippers help you, then by all means bring them. During the sessions that are 6 hours, I will provide a simple meal at mid-day. If you have any food allergies or preferences, please let me know in advance of class. I will also provide tea, water, coffee, or juice for our class time together. If you would like something else you are welcome to bring it.

I would like for each new student to have had a Reiki treatment at some point prior to beginning training. If you have not, you may wish to schedule an appointment with me or another Reiki practitioner before the first class.
